2006 - January 13th - Friday

Ralph phoned JH in the morning: apparently one of the Hipsey Clan had bumped into Edwin, Kathy’s brother, whilst Edwin and Pat, his wife, were on Holiday in Thailand – Ralph asked JH to look up and pass on various bits of information off the Family Tree.  Also, another member of the Hipsey Clan has been in touch from Malaga in Spain!  JH undertook to study the Family Tree and report back.

Also, Ralph said that he was suffering - as he had run out of his strong pain-killers.  He has a dislocation of the acromioclavicular joint (ACJ): surgery has been discussed but the stabilisation of the joint would not necessarily help in the long run, therefore, Ralph just has to rest during several weeks for things to heal themselves; Ralph has filled in the forms from the NHS (probably he meant DSS) with a view to getting some sort of income as he is self-employed; they have a bit of savings and Kathy gets Invalidity Benefit.  JH arranged to phone back in evening about 9.00pm – as there was a ‘Do’ at Plymouth Museum.  See separate Document Enquiries about Hipsey Family Tree from Foreign Parts

JH called into speak to Sara [and speak to Lyn Headon] who told JH that, once Kathy’s Consultant has read the reply sent to him by JH’s GP, that a letter was expected to be sent to Sara inviting her to send JH an appointment to see a Nephrologist – assuming of course that, after reading the GP’s reply, that JH is still considered a potential Donor!  JH also told Sara about Ralph’s diagnosis.

JH got home at about 9.00pmish but Kathy had left an earlier CM message to say she was off to bed about 7.30pm and would call JH sometime soon.
