2006 - June 25th - Sunday

JH took her train tickets back to the station to get them checked  JH had noticed as soon as she got home yesterday that the ‘out’ ticket started and finished on the 24 June 2006, the day of purchase.  The ‘rtn’ ticket stated that the start date was 24 June 2006 but was valid until well after the date of travel, ie, 6 July 2006.  JH was assured that everything was in order as per their new computer!

2006 - June 29th - Thursday

JH cancelled trip to Althorne from Friday pm 21 July 2006 to Monday am 24 July 2006, ie, JH rang the Lawn GH to cancel 3 nights’ accommodation.  JH also phoned Kathy about JH being unable to come to the Althorne Reunion, as JH would be coming up to London on Saturday 28 July 2006 [whilst staying in the Lawn at Maidenhead for WE]. JH spoke to Kathy:- JH expressed the thought that Kathy would be disappointed, and that the one person she (JH) might miss seeing was Edwin from Canada.  However, JH would be attending the family picnic in Greenwich on Sunday 30 July 2006 {in 2000 and 2003, JH had attended the Althorne Reunion, ie, JH had never attended both events within a week of each other}; Anne Dunk, JH’s school friend [who had attended the Althorne Reunion in 2003 whist she and JH were having a cycling holiday on the Dengie Peninsula to celebrate 50 years of friendship] had said that she would come to Greenwich this year [and look up some cousins of her own].  Kathy thought that she could track down some information as to whether Edwin would be staying in England long enough to attend the Greenwich picnic.

Kathy also mentioned that the Dialysis Centre she attends in North Devon is the ND Renal Unit Annex  Further Action: JH to find out full address of Annex – query how far from Barnstaple, query near another of JH’s school friends -  Hazel Barwise’s home at Stonyland.

2006 - July 4th - Tuesday

JH received a phone call from Mrs Pickering at the Lawn GH  Apparently, she still had JH down for a night’s stay on 5 July 2006: JH said that she had cancelled the booking; JH had spoken, on one occasion to Colin, who had worked at the GH 2 years ago and remembered JH; JH assured Mrs P that the room was not needed (so Mrs Pickering did not need to turn the gentleman, therein, out!).  Subsequently JH remembered – and noted in her diary - that JH had phoned the GH on 22 June 2006; she also recollected that Mrs Pickering answered the phone and thanked JH for letting them know.  Further Action: JH MUST send a card to Mrs Pickering during week commencing 17 July 2006 to confirm that JH is only staying at the GH for 5 nights commencing Friday, 28 July 2006
