2007 - May 18th - Friday

JH emailed Ray Trevitt, with bated breath, as the approval of the IA was expected today!  JH departed, with skin blister, to travel to Maidenhead on the 15.00 train.

2007 - May 23rd - Wednesday

JH opened Ray’s reply – sent shortly after JH’s email – to say that he had just received the HTA’s approval via email.  Ray also said that he would be in touch to confirm the date of cross match, and surgery (11th, and 19th June)!  JH sent a reply back to the effect that she had not taken in the fact that she had to come up to London, again, a week before Surgery!

2007 - May 24th - Thursday

JH Received an email reply from Ray confirming that JH was expected at the RLH on 11th June.

2007 - May 25th - Friday

JH rang David at JHH to ask if JH could spend a few days there, after she had been discharged, and provided she came with someone and shared a twin room:  Of course, David immediately said that this was NOT possible, as JHH was NOT a convalescent home – which JH realised but, as both Dr Curson, and Ray, and also Ann (as far as JH can recollect) had ‘mentioned’ JHH {because they had heard it mentioned by JH} with regards to JH’s ‘staying around’ before going back to Plymouth by train - JH decided to put the question to David, in order to ‘have an answer’ for anyone who mentioned JHH again!  In any event, David said he would be very happy for JH to stay in JHH should she be coming up for more tests.  JH sent an email reply to Ray saying that she planned to stay overnight at JHH on 10th June, and come over to Renal Outpatients for cross-matching at 10.30am on 11th June: JH Also mentioned to Ray, that JH had made arrangements to travel back to Plymouth, after her operation, with Mary Andrews.  JH sent email to David at JHH asking him to book a room for JH to occupy at 8.00pm on Sunday 10th June – JH asked if she could pick up the keys at the Security Office (as on 13th May).

2007 - May 27th - Sunday

JH received a sad email from Kathy who said, ‘To date I have no energy to do anything.’: JH replied – mentioning that Ann, having met Kathy on 14th May, was concerned for Kathy – realising that Kathy needed to be well enough to undergo the operation; furthermore, JH added that, although it would be bitterly disappointing for Kathy, should she not be fit enough, that JH was still ‘hanging on there!  JH also told Kathy snippets about JH’s and BS’s School Reunion, and also about Ann’s witnessing a knife assault in a London railway station.

2007 - May 28th - Monday

JH sent email to Sara Stacey, explaining to her about JH’s appointment with the Independent Assessor. JH had copied in Lyn Headon with Sara’s email, but Lyn did not receive this email; even though – at one point – JH only added one ‘n’ to ‘Lyn’ to try to send the emails.

2007 - May 31st - Thursday

JH went [via the Hospital to Mutley Plain to collect a book] to visit Lyn - to give Lyn PCFCD’s File for her to browse through before taking the minutes for JH whilst she will be away on 21st June; Lyn and her colleague, Margaret, had a most encouraging chat with JH.
