2008 - April 14th - Monday

JH started an exchange of emails with Kathy about JH’s FU appointment, and meeting up with everybody on Thursday 1st May.  JH also explained that she had missed seeing Bill and Pic but that they did, of course, know that JH was going to be spending May Day WE with the Skinners.  JH undertook to phone up the Renal OPD at the RLH again, if she did not receive a formal appointment letter from the RLH shortly.  On Monday 21st April, JH went to Plymouth Station to purchase her return ticket to the RLH at Whitechapel.  JH forwarded an email from Ann and Walter about their trip over to England {Grossbritannien as written on the booking slip, with the Swiss Company Hapimag, which Frau Elflein sent to JH} to the Skinners. 


 
 
JH did expressed the thought to Kathy and Ralph, that JH would come prepared to stay from 1st May to 6th May with them, but that she would not mind being ‘put off’ should either of them be ill, or something else crop up: however, Kathy said that they had ‘all the dates booked in our diary’, and also reminded JH that the latter was committed to going to Kathy’s friend, Fay’s 50th birthday party on the Sunday.  Furthermore, Kathy said that she was hoping to get a pass for JH to go to her health club for a swim in the mornings; JH expressed a hope that this would not be at the  crack of dawn!  And, Kathy said that she may have an appointment at the RLH on 6th May, so the Skinners would be able to drop JH back at Whitechapel Underground Station – so it’s just as well that JH did NOT buy a return all the way to Hadleigh (in any case, she could not remember the names of the stations local to Hadleigh - there is a second station she could arrive at, if she departed from a ‘different’ London Station). 

On Thursday 24th April JH received an appointment for 2.00pm on 1st May 2008 at the Renal OPD at RLH; furthermore, she received a duplicate letter the following day!  In any event, she phoned, Audrey Dunkley, PA to Mr Chawdhery, to confirm that she would arrive.

2008 - April 25th - Friday

Ann phoned JH from the Elfleins’ accommodation in London.  They are staying at Hapimag in Lancaster Gate in London.  JH told them that JH’s appointment was in the afternoon, so the Elfleins undertook to be at the Good Samaritan at 12.30pm.  JH sent an email to the Skinners to finalise all the arrangements to meet.  However . . . just when JH was throwing things into her wheelie, Ann rang JH again to suggest that the Elfleins meet for coffee in the morning of 1st May: JH said she would meet the Elfleins in the front entrance of the RLH at 11.00am.

2008 - April 29th - Tuesday

JH sent a email to Edwin in Canada about his wife, Sheila’s death on Valentine’s Day; JH also sent recent news of the Hipsey Clan’s ‘goings on’; JH received a reply from Edwin on 12th May.
